BLAZE!
Blaze TV follows the true events of dedicated firefighters who risk their lives on a daily basis saving others. Unlike reality shows, Blaze TV is a "real life" show that follows firefighters on day-to-day duties and calls as well as deep into the heart of fighting fires. Filmed in HD, dramatic footage follows real firefighters in real situations, embedding the viewer in the fire engines alongside some of the most elite crews from around the country.
"After September 11th, the world had a much different view of firefighters and police officers. I think people realized that these brave men and women really do put their lives on the line every shift to save others. The police have a show dedicated to them, so I wondered why shouldn't firefighters have one as well?" said Blaze TV creator and Executive Producer Steven Gurley.
In the pilot episode, Blaze TV offers the viewer breathless, fast-paced entertainment as production crews ride alongside station six from Birmingham's Fire and Rescue Service on fire, motor vehicle and emergency medical calls. Watch as fire resistant and water proof helmet cameras follow firefighters into the heart of an out of control apartment fire that takes nine engine companies, two ladder companies and two battalion chiefs to contain. Twenty-four hour shifts send rescue personnel to the scene of a six car accident where the lives of 13 teenagers hang precariously in the balance. In the middle of seven rescue trucks, four engine companies and two heavy rescue companies, Battalion Chief Beckham makes a drastic, personal decision to save lives with dramatic results.
Because Blaze TV's camera crews lived with the fire personnel, they were able to capture every up close and personal moment of the heartwrenching drama that surrounded one female firefighter and her father's courageous fight against cancer. Cameras mounted inside the fire engines capture the precarious path firefighters take to save lives, weaving in and out of traffic, avoiding pedestrians and risking their own lives on the way to save others. Both the personal and professional drama of Blaze TV will leave the television audience on the edge of their seats, demanding more.
"This show is designed to give viewers a front row seat to the true reality of firefighting. They risk their lives not only fighting fires, but answering life threatening medical calls and sometimes even answering calls that just lead them on wild goose chases. That IS the reality," said Executive Producer Jonathan Barbee.
Each season, Blaze TV will travel to different cities off the beaten path, around the country and eventually around the world. By allowing television audiences a bird's eye view of life as a firefighter, both on a professional as well as personal level, the show is able to introduce the real life of a firefighter to the world -- from their family at home to their family at the station. Blaze TV makes a point to feature smaller towns and cities -- not just big cities like New York and Los Angeles – riveted viewers will be able to see the similarities and differences associated with saving lives on a global level. Because of the estimated 1.5 million firefighters around the country, Blaze TV has a built-in viewing audience that most shows lack.
Through Blaze TV, the viewer is able to see how these brave individuals must overcome and tame Mother Nature's wrath. This fist-clenching show keeps the viewer on edge and unveils the "real life" of firefighters as some live and some die saving lives.
Real Fires. Real Emergencies. Real Life.
BLAZE Television.
